Running: The Sport That Rejuvenates You

Sport against wrinkles and acne
Exercise isn’t just for elite athletes preparing for competition. With light but regular exercise, everyone can improve their health, fitness, and longevity. Exercise will not only give you a fit and healthy body, but also positive energy, a sense of accomplishment and stress reduction.

What are the health benefits of running?

The benefits of vigorous exercise are well described. The American College of Sports Medicine Position Statement on Exercise is a document chock-full of studies proving that vigorous exercise yields plenty of health benefits. One of the major points of the position statement is that there is a dose response to exercise; that is, the more you do, or the harder you do it, the more benefit you accrue. But this point is not to discount moderate exercise. You get plenty of benefit from moderate exercise, it's just that vigorous exercise seems to accrue even more benefit. The ACSM report makes it clear that "many significant health benefits are achieved by going from a sedentary state to a minimal level of physical activity; [but] programs involving higher intensities and/or greater frequency/durations provide additional benefits. For example, it was shown in one study that individuals who ran more than 50 miles per week had significantly greater increases in HDL cholesterol (the good fat) and significantly greater decreases in body fat, triglyceride levels, and the risk of coronary heart disease than individuals who ran less than 10 miles per week. In addition, the long-distance runners had a nearly 50% reduction in high blood pressure and more than a 50% reduction in the use of medications to lower blood pressure and plasma cholesterol levels."

Running and other sports that are good for facial skin

Who doesn't know the maximum "mens sana in corpore sano"? In fact, everyone knows that physical activity is fundamental for physical and mental well-being. But did you know that practicing sports is also good for facial skin? Running, as well as other sporting activities, has a real anti-aging effect that allows us not only to reduce wrinkles, but also to have a healthy and radiant complexion. This beauty discovery can be useful for those looking for more motivation to engage in sports. We then discover how sport can benefit our skin.

Running and other sports improve cellular turnover.

Running: The Sport That Rejuvenates You

How does sport benefit the skin of the face? Let's start by talking about running , as it is one of the most popular activities and does not even require enrollment in the gym and is therefore a sport suitable even for those who need to be more budget conscious: just the right shoes, a pair of leggings and a shirt and go! Let us just remember to always carry with us a bottle of water, whatever sport is chosen, because hydrating is also essential for the well-being of facial skin . Running at a good pace and constantly, for about three hours a week, ensures better oxygenation of the cells and therefore a first fundamental anti-aging action . Indeed, running and other sports improve cellular turnover. The skin then regenerates and appears smoother. Another important effect is on the circulation which improves thanks to the work of contraction of the muscles and which guarantees a beautiful healthy color. For all these reasons, running is also good for the skin of the face.

Sport against wrinkles and acne

Running and other aerobic activities have a real detox effect. In fact, through sweating, we expel toxins and the skin is also purified, becoming brighter. Furthermore, sport regulates hormone production and reduces stress, factors that often cause acne. And what about wrinkles? Whether it amazes you or not, the sport acts directly on wrinkles, managing to slow down its appearance and, in some cases, attenuating its depth. All thanks to the production of endorphins and collagen stimulation. We always hear of these first ones because they are directly related to the feeling of lightness and good humor that follows the sport activity. As we have already said, in fact, sport reduces the stress hormone that is also closely related to skin aging. Collagen, on the other hand, plays a fundamental role for the shine and compactness of the skin.

Not just racing: the disciplines that rejuvenate

There are of course other sports that can prove to be valuable allies to defeat the aging of the face, such as dancing or dancing. Dance is a beautiful discipline that, in addition to being very funny, can reduce stress and all its consequences. Be it Latin American dances, modern dance or belly dancing sessions, muscular effort and aerobic action bring about the same powerful anti-aging effect, helping to leave us with a healthier and smoother face skin. Gymnastics such as Zumba and martial arts like Karate are also perfect for fighting skin aging. Finally, what is the best way to oxygenate the body if not doing outdoor sports? Allow yourself a few bike rides immersed in nature.

Yoga is an ancient discipline.
Yoga

Yoga.
Don't we particularly like aerobic sports? So let's focus on another physical activity that offers identical benefits but with completely different methods: yoga. Yoga is an ancient discipline born in India millennia of years ago. Halfway between a spiritual practice and a relaxation technique, it is   yoga includes a series of exercises aimed at facial muscles, exercises that help to relax the skin and which have the effect of reducing wrinkles around the eyes and mouth and keeping the skin of the cheeks compact. Yoga practice also includes relaxation, meditation, posture and breathing exercises.

This is a discipline that, unlike others, is really good for everyone, in fact there are no age limits. A good alternative to yoga is pilates, an excellent exercise to oxygenate tissues and muscle pains.

It’s never too late. The sooner you start, the better. How about now?
